APCS Shield

Terms of service

Last updated 3 November 2026

Draft. These terms are awaiting legal review and may change before APCS Shield launches.

1. The service

APCS Shield is provided by A+ Computer Solutions ("APCS", "we"). It lets you send an emergency alert with your location to a command centre run by a police service or a private security firm, which decides how to respond.

2. APCS Shield does not replace 911

If you are in immediate danger, call 911. APCS Shield is an additional way to ask for help. We cannot guarantee that a responder will arrive, or how quickly: that depends on the responding agency, your phone's signal, battery and GPS, and conditions we do not control.

3. Your account

4. False alarms and misuse

Do not raise alerts as a joke or to waste responders' time. Use the test alert to check the app. We may warn, suspend or close accounts that raise repeated false alarms, and false reports to police may be an offence under Belize law.

5. Plans and payment

Some features need a paid plan. Prices, billing periods and cancellation terms are shown before you subscribe. If a payment fails, your account moves to the Basic plan; you can still raise an alert. [Refund terms.]

6. Organisations

If a police service, security firm or employer provides APCS Shield to you, their agreement with APCS also applies, and they handle the response to your alerts.

7. Recordings and evidence

During an alert the app may record audio and send it to the command centre. Records of alerts, including recordings and location trails, may be shared with police and used as evidence.

8. Limits of our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, APCS is not liable for loss caused by delays or failures in networks, devices, GPS or the actions of responding agencies. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Belize law. [Liability cap to be confirmed by counsel.]

9. Changes and ending the service

We may update these terms and will tell you in the app before important changes. You can close your account at any time from the app or by emailing us.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Belize, and the courts of Belize handle any dispute.
