How it works

From the press of a button to a unit at your door

  1. Press and hold SOS

    Hold the button for two seconds so it never goes off in a pocket. Choose silent mode and the screen stays dark.

  2. A command centre sees you

    Your location, trail, battery, medical profile and audio appear on a live map. Unanswered alerts escalate after 30 seconds.

  3. The nearest unit is sent

    The dispatcher picks the closest available unit by travel time. You see who is coming and when, and can text if you cannot talk.

Duress PIN

Forced to cancel?

Enter your duress PIN. The phone shows the alert as cancelled, while responders keep tracking you and know not to call.

Nobody else can stop it

Cancelling an alert needs your PIN, so an attacker cannot simply switch it off.

Silent mode

No sound, no light

A silent alert gives no vibration or sound and shows a plain dark screen.

SMS fallback

No data? Still sent

Without internet the alert goes out by text message, and saved locations upload when the signal returns.

Audio recorded as it happens

Audio uploads in one-minute pieces, so it is safe even if the phone is taken. Files are encrypted on the server.

Security and privacy

A leak could put someone in danger. We design for that.

APCS Shield is designed around Belize's Data Protection Act, 2021. Location data is collected only during an alert, and only the centre handling it can see it.
